Norman Smith ( United Kingdom ) and LalooYadav ( Banaras ) jointly photographed Banaras in the early 1970’s using 35 mmnegative film.
They had a darkroom in Assi where they developed the film and made prints.

NormanSmith was a student in the Indology Department atBanaras Hindu University. Earlier he had been filming in 8 mm movie colourformat and 35 mm as well as 120 mm stills. Prior to arriving in India he hadextensive travelled over 20 countries.

LalooYadav is an artist and photo finisher. He hasextensive experience in working in various photography studios in Banaras,Delhi and Jaipur.
